We all love our children and want to celebrate their birthdays with the most intent. It is a wonderful treat if you decide to bake a special cake for your kid’s birthday.

Children these days love cocomelon. Making this birthday special for your kid you can try this very simple recipe.

This cake is designed to resemble the popular characters from the Cocomelon show, making it a hit for children’s birthday parties.

Ingredients:

For the Cake:

  • 2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (green, blue, yellow, and red)

For the Buttercream Frosting:

  • 1 1/2 cups unsalted butter, softened
  • 6 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • Food coloring (same colors as above)

For Decoration:

  • Cocomelon cake toppers or edible images
  • Fondant or pre-made Cocomelon characters

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

  • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans or line them with parchment paper.

2. Prepare the Cake Batter:

  • In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • In another bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  • Add the eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  • Mix in the vanilla extract.
  • Gradually add the flour mixture to the butter mixture, alternating with milk, beginning and ending with the flour mixture. Mix until smooth.

3. Color the Batter:

  • Divide the batter into four equal portions.
  • Add food coloring to each portion (green, blue, yellow, and red). Mix until the color is even.

4. Bake the Cakes:

  • Pour the colored batter into the prepared cake pans, layering the colors if desired.
  • Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
  • Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then remove them from the pans and transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.

5. Make the Buttercream Frosting:

  • In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy.
  • Gradually add the powdered sugar, mixing on low speed.
  • Add the vanilla extract and milk, and continue to beat until the frosting is smooth and fluffy.
  • Divide the frosting into separate bowls and color each portion with the same food colors used for the cake layers.

6. Assemble the Cake:

  • Level the tops of the cakes if necessary.
  • Place the first cake layer on a serving plate and spread a layer of buttercream on top.
  • Place the second cake layer on top and frost the entire cake with a thin layer of white buttercream (crumb coat). Refrigerate for 30 minutes to set.
  • Frost the cake with the colored buttercream, creating a smooth finish or using a piping bag for fun designs.

7. Decorate:

  • Decorate the cake with Cocomelon-themed cake toppers, edible images, or fondant characters.
  • You can create a rainbow pattern on the cake or design it to resemble one of the Cocomelon characters.

8. Serve and Enjoy:

  • Slice and serve your colorful Cocomelon cake, and watch the kids’ faces light up!
